Nikki's Kids: Fund Established in Memory of Columbus Teacher

Brian Hollis, coach of the Columbus 12U Hammers baseball team, lost his wife, Nikki, in August after a long battle with cancer. In her memory, a fund has been established called “Nikki’s Kids” which will help raise the necessary funds to build and maintain a baseball and playground facility in Columbus for handicapped children.

 

 

Brian’s Hammers Baseball team was featured in the July issue of The Sporting Spirit for their trip to the Cooperstown Field of Dreams Park tournament in New York. Brian and Nikki, who was a special education teacher, have been involved since the beginning in the Little League Challenger Division in Columbus, a baseball league for handicapped children. A number of Nikki’s students participated in the league.

 

"I hope to have news soon about a proposed site for the field," Brian said. Those who are interested in contributing to the cause can mail their gifts to:
