Tree-Stand Fatigue--Beat It!

By Evans Allen

Ever wonder why it takes you more and more time to climb up into that deer stand?

At 15 years old you would jump steps to get up there, now you need a break and an oxygen tank in the middle of the climb.

And heck, shooting the deer was the easy part—now you’ve got to find the strength to get it onto the back of the four-wheeler.

I believe it is important to keep yourself in the best shape possible; and yes adults, that includes you!

It is important to combine cardiovascular exercises with weight bearing exercises.  This combination is vital if you plan to trim and tone.

I suggest you find a program that has an assortment of workouts that helps you meet your individual goals.

Make sure the program you choose starts out with an active dynamic warm-up.  This will help tone your muscles and increase your fitness, balance and flexibility, as well as strengthen the heart.

There are many opportunities to train in small group settings with a performance coach who can give you the individual attention you need to help achieve your goals while competing with the person next to you.

I truly believe that as parents we must lead our kids by example.

Instead of filling their lunch bags with unwanted carrots and signing them up for multiple sports just to stay active, we must show them that healthy eating and exercise is a lifestyle- and yes parents, that starts with you!
